Snapping turtle laying eggs

I’ve been working on creating a database of observations, but in fits and starts with records going back to 2004. An encounter with kindred spirits this morning inspired me to ramp up my efforts. – We talked of 18 goslings dwindled down to 6 goslings, and the fact that NO ducklings at all have been seen. Last year Mallard and Wood Duck young were seen nearly every day in June.

Looking for treat

As I reviewed last year’s field notes, I sadly note the utter absence of the rabbits recorded throughout June 2010.  However, we’ve seen two young raccoon, which was a treat.
